The Golden Age of Film
This year, Wayne State University School of Medicine is presenting our Golden Gala. Prominent business, community and political leaders with physicians and educators will be brought together to this invitation-only celebration of scholarship support.
During this event, Drs. Anna Ledgerwood and Charles Lucas will be presented with the Trailblazer Award. Drs. Isaac Powell and Harry Maisel are the Ambassador Award Honorees.
The theme of this event is The Golden Age of Film and includes a reception, plated dinner and afterglow, each area with its own classic cinema theme. Live music will also be enjoyed during the event
Scholarship Support
Golden Gala donations and pledges will provide opportunities to many students who otherwise would be unable to afford medical school and aid in the reduction of debt that currently burdens many of our new graduates. The average debt upon graduation at the WSU School of Medicine is approximately $154,000 per student.
